Joan Heid

Welcome to Team Joan Heid. Joan passed away on August 7, 2019 after loosing her 2 1/2 year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Joan was a fighter and convinced she was going to beat OC! She was diagnosed in February 2017 then had a full hysterectomy, endured biweekly chemo treatments for 2 years, and then went on a daily chemo pill. Joan was a fabulous entertainer, host, cook, friend, and an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. Joan never complained once and took her dose and gave cancer her best fight!
We are trying to carry on and do good deeds in her honor! We never looked up the stats on OC when she was diagnosed and thank God we did not because it's horrifying! 1 in 78 women will be diagnosed with OC, there is no test for OC unless you specifically ask for a CA125 test, and once diagnosed only 90% of women have a survival rate of up to 5 years! Please help us support National Ovarian Cancer Coalition by making a contribution to our fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's great cause! Additionally, you can ask me how you can get involved too. Please join my Team in walking on Sunday, September 22nd in Annapolis MD. Welcome to Team Joan Heid. My mother passed away on August 7, 2019 after loosing her 2 1/2 year battle with Ovarian Cancer.
