When I first created Team HIRstory in 2013, it was named for Helen (my amazing mother-in-law who passed of the disease), myself, and my rockstar mom, Rozzie (an 8-year stage 4 survivor). I shared our story and participated in the hopes that one day we would find an early detection tool so that my daughters, my niece and other females in our family who might have inherited the BRCA mutation could know if they had the disease in its earliest stages when outcomes tend to be best. Better yet, how about a cure?!!! Now, having met countless women through my involvement with NOCC, I no longer think of just the females in my family. I think of ALL my teal sisters -- those we've lost, those battling, and those who haven't yet been diagnosed but someday will. Ovarian cancer continues to be the most deadly of all gyn cancers. Please, if you can, consider joining my team or making a donation to help those currently battling and those who might get it in the future. Thank you!
