Help break the silence!

This is why I run

This is the 7th year Oliver’s Angels will run to break the silence against ovarian cancer. The team was created by the Oliver children in 2013 in honor of our mom, Patrice Marie Oliver, diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February 2010. Last year shortly after the 2018 race, my husband and I moved to Texas starting a new adventure in the lone star state. While my body may be in Texas, my heart is still in VA with my family and friends. This year I will be returning to run in the race that held a very special place in my Mom’s heart.

Yearly, family and friends come together and honor the memory of my Mom and all her strength and beauty she brought to this world. She NEVER let ovarian cancer define her and was an inspiration and beacon of hope and strength to so many. She was an admired special education teacher, an exceptional friend, a loving wife, and an extraordinarily thoughtful and exemplary Mom.

I run to advocate knowledge is power and to break the silence against ovarian cancer to ensure other women, moms, families, daughters, sisters, and friends do not have to endure the journey we all have been through with this disease.
