Though she be but little she is fierce

Oliver's Angels

Oliver's Angels

This is why we run

This is the 7th year Oliver’s Angels will run to break the silence against ovarian cancer. The team was created by the Oliver children in 2013 in honor of our mom, Patrice Marie Oliver, diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February 2010. Patrice never let ovarian cancer define her and was an inspiration and beacon of hope and strength to so many. She was an admired special education teacher, an exceptional friend, a loving wife, and an extraordinarily thoughtful and exemplary Mom.

Patrice referred to her support system as her angels, appropriately naming the team Oliver’s Angels. The team motto, “Though she be but little she is fierce,” is a quote Patrice epitomized each day on her journey with ovarian cancer and is the team’s inspiration for why we run each year. This is Oliver’s Angels third year running in memory of their guardian angel. We run to honor Patrice’s memory and to carry on a tradition that brought so much joy to her heart. We run to advocate that knowledge is power and to break the silence against ovarian cancer to ensure other women, moms, families, daughters, sisters, and friends do not have to endure the journey we all have been through with this disease.
