As an oncology nurse practitioner, I have a lot of experience with cancer, treatments, talking with families, etc. But last year, July 2019, when my sister Lisa was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer, I felt like a fish out of water. Sitting on the other side of the table, hearing those same words I speak, being said to my sister, my family, was one of the hardest things of my life. When I happened upon a flyer for the NOCC 2019 walk, I pitched the idea of walking to my family, and unanimously we agreed and "TeamLisa" was started. The NOCC walk brought us together as a family and gave us a purpose. They have provided so much physically and emotionally for my sister and family.
The NOCC provides many different services for Ovarian Cancer patients and families- meals during treatment, support groups, community outreach, and so much more.
Please help me support National Ovarian Cancer Coalition by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's great cause!
Together, we can make a difference!
