- About NOCC
I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer at age 45 in April 2020. A global pandemic wasn't exciting enough for me; I had to throw cancer into the mix! I had a total abdominal hysterectomy with a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy on April 10 and on May 13 I started undergoing weekly chemo sessions that will last for 18 weeks.
Please help me support the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition by making a contribution to my fundraiser and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar I raise will advance National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's great cause! As a side note, the NOCC gave me a wonderful tote full of very helpful information packets and gifts during my first chemo session. They do a lot for ovarian cancer patients and survivors and also work to prevent and cure ovarian cancer.
You can also join my team, Jen's Ova It, and fundraise on its behalf. Though the walk is unfortunately virtual this year, thanks to COVID-19, you can physically join me as I walk a few miles around Frederick or DC on September 26 or you can walk/run/bike/skip/row/skate your own path wherever you choose on that day. Joining the team does require a $20 registration fee. If you wish to join Jen's Ova It, let me know and I will get you set up as a team member. If you walk with me I'll give you a personalized pin and ovarian cancer ribbon temporary tattoos to wear during our walk. You will also qualify for an official event t-shirt if you raise or donate more than $100.
