Receiving the diagnosis of stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2017 stopped me in my tracks. I had been training all summer for a 500 mile bike ride through Missouri, I had made my last deposit for my trip and a week later received the news of the malignant cancer. Surgery, chemotherapy, counselling, re-occurance in 2019, more chemotherapy and now a daily medication to prevent the cancer from coming back have been part of my life. I have received so much support from friends, family, co-workers, health care workers and even strangers. My bald head scared some people but also connected me to people who reached out to provide support. Thank you for supporting me.
