March For Margie

March for Margie

Dear Family and Friends-On March 22nd, our amazing mother, Margie Silverman, lost her courageous 3-year battle with ovarian cancer. We feel so blessed to have had her in our lives. She was a special person with a huge heart, wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh. Our mom's entire existence revolved around family. Being a wife, mother, grandma and mother-in-law gave her pure joy. And, nobody did it better.

In tribute to her, The Mintz and Gens families will be participating in the Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer on May 19th in Chicago.

We deeply believe in the mission of the NOCC to educate and create awareness of this insidious disease. It is a silent killer. The disease often progresses to late stage cancer before a person is symptomatic as was the case with my mother. More than 22,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and over 14,000 women die from the disease.

This journey that our family has lived through is one that we would not wish upon anyone. Please support our mom and all other ovarian cancer patients, survivors and their families.

Thank you for your support.
Love,
Karen and Laurie
